Terms of service
Effective October 17, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and MisoFilter ("we", "us") covering purchases from misoeq.com and your use of MisoEQ and any other software we sell. By buying or using our software, you agree to them.
Your license
When you buy MisoEQ, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use it on up to 2 Macs you own or control, for as long as your license is active. You're buying a license to use the software, not the software itself. We keep all rights we don't expressly give you.
You may not:
- share, sell, rent or give away your license key or copies of MisoEQ
- remove or change copyright notices or the license check
- use MisoEQ to break any law or infringe anyone's rights
Beta software
MisoEQ is currently in beta. That means it's still being finished: it may have bugs, features may change or be removed, and it may not work with every Mac, audio device or macOS version. Please keep this in mind, and use the 5-day refund window if it doesn't work for you.
Not a medical device
MisoEQ is an audio filter. It is not a medical device and isn't intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, including misophonia or hearing loss. It doesn't replace advice from a doctor, audiologist or therapist.
Protect your hearing
MisoEQ can change your volume, including raising it. Start at a low volume, especially with headphones, and stop using it if you notice discomfort or ringing in your ears.
Updates
MisoEQ can check for and install updates. We may release updates that fix problems, add or remove features, or change requirements. Updates are covered by these terms.
Open-source components
MisoEQ includes open-source software, such as Sparkle, ONNX Runtime and DeepFilterNet. Each is used under its own license, listed in MisoEQ under About MisoEQ > Full license texts. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licenses.
Refunds and ending your license
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy. If you get a refund, or if you break these terms, your license ends and you must stop using MisoEQ. You can stop using MisoEQ at any time by uninstalling it.
No warranty
MisoEQ is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will filter every sound you find triggering.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, MisoFilter isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of or inability to use our software. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the product the claim relates to.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we do, we'll change the date at the top and post the new version on this page. Continuing to use MisoEQ after a change means you accept the updated terms.
